I had bought myself an OEM version Of Win 7 and was wondering if i have to buy a new windows key to reformat my computer because you have to talk to the robot, help me please?

Solution
click on start. computer, click on system properties (top , 2nd from left)
click on change product key (bottom right in blue)
Enter new code and go to windows updates for validation.
You need to pick the windows validation tool first then let it update the rest. This will sort piracy from genuine codes.
If the disk media was seperate from the code this will let microsoft decide if the licence has been paid for. There neednt be any link between the licence and the code origin(disk, etc),
M/S only care you have paid to use it..

Can it be reused? How would the automated voice know that?

So you have a media disk and a C.O.A. (certificate of authority=licence)
The media disk is to install, and the c.o.a. activates the product with microsoft to let them know it has been paid for.
What you want to know is what to do next.
Format the drive is ERASE EVERYTHING OFF THE PC.
Only do this when you have backed up anything on your computer you need to an external source (hotmail, external hard drive, dvd, other pc..)
THEN just follow the format/install process and you are good to go.

What do you mean by media disk? I got one from amazon and its a dell one when it says my pc is manufactured by PC Specialist(company who custom built my pc) and it says on the disk "The software is already installed on your computer. Use this DVD only to reinstall the OS on a Dell PC"

You need to install the software, (operating system) and go to windows updates. It WILL do the rest. Trust me and a lot of better experienced guys on here. Ignore any dell support numbers, its not there product.

So I CAN use the disk that says for "Dell PC only"? And i CAN reuse the Product Key? Honestly tell me the truth that you either think you can or you are sure you can

O.K.,if you put the code in where I told you if its good you will be cooking with gas.If it isnt m/s wil probably give you a few days to 'cough up'.
Remember to goto updates and let it roll. Validation tool may come later with an early install disk.
Good luck.
