im getting a random ip in numbers and letters

Solution
There's nothing to be concerned about. That's normal for IPv6, which is designed to allow more Internet-capable devices to be on the Internet. Both the IPv6 number and the IPv4 number are valid for your computer. The default gateway (your cable modem) is IPv6-compatible.

Right click on "Network" then click properties, click change adapter settings, right click on your Local Area connection the properties. Uncheck "Internet Protocol Version 6 TCP/IPv6"hit Okay. Restart you computer or go to cmd and type ipconfig /renew.
