Seasonic m12 620w for r9 290?

The r9 290 consumes anywhere from 250-300W at stock clocks, possibly up to 350W or more if you have an insane overclock running. Assuming you probably don't have an enormous watercooling loop and an FX 9590 or something running at 5GHz, you should be perfectly fine, especially since Seasonic is arguably the best-quality PSU manufacturer.

Thanks for your help. I have a z77 extreme4, i5 3570k planning to clock @4.2-4.5, corsair h100i, 7 fans, 1ssd, hdd, dvdrom. Assuming i now have the 290, how much allowance do you think i have? Just rough estimate. I would be glad to have atleast 50w

At least 100W, probably more. I have a 4670K at 4.2 and roughly the same setup with crossfire HD 7870s running on a Corsair 600W psu with absolutely no problems. I guarantee I consume more power than you will. Just a sidenote, there's almost no benefit to overclocking past 4.3 or so. The extra voltage causes huge percentage upswings (10-30%) in power consumption for minimal performance gains. The bragging rights may be worth it to you though who knows lol.
