I am not sure if a haswell pentium G has an onboard graphics device, but it is a reasonably pokey little cpu
(ten % faster than a Q6600 quad core)

So with a 7770 I would imagine it will play most games at lower settings.
Do check, because single player games need less than multiplayer.

The Pentium G3220 has Intel HD graphics built in, it'd be able to run the game at low settings at a lower resolution but it won't be a very good experience

It's a powerful dual core with great single threaded performance so most light MMOs and other less intensive games shouldn't be a problem if paired with a decent GPU

You should be fine with a 7770, DotA 2 isn't too demanding so a 7770 should have no problems playing it

The 7770 can play Far Cry 3 well at medium-high settings so DotA 2 should be a piece of cake by comparison

Haha it's as powerful as an overclocked Core 2 Duo, so it's still quite capable despite most people here having much more powerful components :lol:

i'm on a low budget.

but now i want to play dota2 because my old notebook is already gone... ;_;

should i get a G3220 or A8-5600k?

at first i am going to get A8-5600k but
i think g3220+7770 is stronger than a8 and can upgradeable to i5-4440 if i want to buy new cpu(socket 1150)

is g3220 worth it?

If you're in the US/UK and you're going to use the 7770 then you could get an Athlon 750k/760k and a compatible FM2/FM2+ mobo which is basically an A10-5700/5800k without the APU (if you're outside then you'd probably have to order one of them through Amazon)

For upgradability sake the G3220 would be the better choice since you can eventually get that i5 down the line

At its price point the G3220 isn't a bad choice, though the 750k/760k are the usual recommendations at that price (though there's virtually no upgradability)

And since you're mostly playing DotA 2 and probably some less intensive games at this time (Crysis 3, Planetside 2 etc. would be playable still, just not very well) I'd say it'd be a good choice
