the board doesn't have any x4 slots on it, it has 2 x1's 2 regular pci and 2 pci express x16's they are in the x16 slots i have never crossfired before but i figured it should be working better not worse than 1 card lol

oh, you said x4? Then it should be performing better yes but I was thinking that you should have the cards in the right slots before continuing. Well before I go investigating this problem, I have 2 questions for you. 1) Do you have the cards actually connected with a crossfire cable (rhetorical question), and 2) have you enabled crossfire when the game opens (some games don't support crossfire so you can't use two all the time) There should be a crossfire enabler in the top right or wherever it is defaulted to on the screen.

the bitch card is running at 91c and rising lol i need a cooling solution to this setup theres no breathing room between them on bf 4 and the frames stay steady at 30-40 i have crossfire enabled on ccc but what do you mean when the game opens like in the game enable it?

with some crossfire setups, you have to enable when the crossfire icon appears on the loading screen. If yours is already enabled then that won't effect you. lol, 30-40fps on BF4 (Ultra)? I have a Gigabyte R9 290X 4GB Windforce 3X OC (has been OC'd) and on BF4 I get 90fps average (on ultra). It runs at 64 degrees average so that is very good for one card. I spent $775 on it when I bought it, quite a lot.

Weird, my sister got her 270x yesterday and she gets more than 60fps in Battlefield 4 ultra with vsync and aa off. You should get a lot more because a 290x is more than twice as fast as a measly 270x

yea they are really inflated atm though this is my friends computer im over his house trying to help him get it working im aiming at buying 2 270x's for mine cause i cant find a cheap single card setup that 2 270x's wont perform up to or better and i wont spend over 300 for a gpu my job pays me terrible >.< but when we run bf4 with just one of his cards he gets 60+ fps on ultra i dont understand why it drops 30 frames with the second card

Sorry I mean 90fps minimum, I get 110+ as I have OC'd the card quite a bit but the R9 290X is a beast!.
