window opening up when windows starts.

Hello. I'm using XP on my mac via parallels. I have AVG installed.

Every time I start windows there is a window that opens up that has to do with AVG. There isn't anything wrong with AVG, but I just wanted to ask where/how do I not have any window open up when I start windows? I just want the desktop displayed. I don't remember changing any setting that would automatically open any window when XP starts.

There doesn't seem to be any msconfig -- aside from the fact that I have the run box checked when I customize the start menu. When I do the windows+R commaned and get the run box and enter msconfig I get an error box that says 'cannot find msconfig.'

sounds like maybe you have a corrupt file or more.try going to the run box and typing sfc /scannow . note the space between sfc and the forward slash.have your xp cd handy in case it asks for it.this should correct all your system files to default.
