I have seen some numbers and there is a few statistics that impress me like the. The BF4 has did not really take advantage by much yet but the star fighter benchmark Did quite well. So I understand mantle basically will put less stress on your CPU and give you a bit more graphics performance. Even the very technical Video I saw still leaves more questions though. I own a GTX 770 and right now it runs any game I threw at it. GPU bound games like Crysis 3 still tax my system when turning everything on at 1080p. So I am considerng my next card to be an r9 290 if the price is right. What about Nvidia Cards though, are games even going to be coded for DX in the near future. AMD basically owns the living room as the big name consoles have their hardware. I got into PC building so I could get the best performance I could afford. Just the thought of having to buy a $600+ graphics card sooner rather than later for noticeably better gains is not ideal.

Well I am just worried about one game coming out right now and that is Star Citizen. I have seen a preview for the game and a GTX 770 would only be able to play the game at medium settings with no AA and will probably have to turn down other things as well if I wanted to run it at 1080p. If I can't play the game at my monitor's native resolution then I will need another GPU or a second 770. I really hope that Direct X becomes a low level API like Mantle. I was going to get another AMD card but the 770 was to good to pass up.
