not sure if the right forum, but i get this error about 1-2 times per week. I am wondering what can cause this error. Mysystem specs will be posted if needed but I mainly want to know the common causes of this error.

often its associated with voltage drops on systems that are running close to the minimum volts required for the likes of the cpu and ram. often it will show up on systems that run an overclock without the required voltage bump. same for the memory.
on my system i got it a few times when i tried to run the memory at 1.5v when it needed 1.6 to be stable.

could you do us a favour and post the full error code. you can find it in the event logs (ctrl panel/admin tools/events viewer) or use bluescreenviewer and create a log file from it. (post it on a file host and link it here)
you should see the stop error 124 with 4 or so other numbers behind it.
they should tell us which piece of hardware or driver is causing the issue.
as you on stock auto its unlikely that its a voltage issue. i mentioned it because thats how i came across it when i was overclocking.
