Hi

Very few ordinary motherboards support this sort of ram
They are mostly found in servers where at boot up the bios can map out faulty sections of memory on the dimm
A 4GB EEC dimm has more than 4GB of memory on the board maybe an extra 512MB

In some cases registered dimm's let a motherboard with maximum capacity of 16 GB can take 32GB

For most ordinary motherboards you want fast DDR 3 8GB or possibly 16GB of a make & type on motherboard makers website compatibly list or possibly recommended by memory manufacturers such as Crucial (owned by Micron)

so for only purpose of games and some low power applications...which RAM should i choose...is it fine if it doesnt have ECC or BUFFERED capability?

Hi

Since you have not said what motherboard no one can give you any direct advice

Go to Crucial.com type in motherboard make & Model and you will have some advice .
A 8gb kit is 2 matching 4GB modules you can choose standard or fast options

Asus MAXIMUS VI FORMULA motherboard and intel i5-4670k quadcore(my first priority is for this cpu).....i dont know if motherboard is good but i know motherboard is main component...i will be greatfull if you give me a ultra gaming build based on the above CPU........its gonna take 6 months from now to start building anyway....i just think that cpu is good for overclocking for a reasonable price...instead of going for a higher cpu..i think its better to have a good cooling .....wat say?

Hi

You have changed the subject !

What graphics card do you have ?
What resolution does your screen have?
How much do you want to spend .?

In 6 months time the best value graphics card may change as new cards come onto the market an prices fall

Screen resolution & number of screens are important to choice of graphics card

SSD prices are falling you could get a 256GB SSD + 1 or 2 TB hard disk
Or a hybrid drive would be cheaper
