Solution
Really the easiest solution for HALF the cost, go hit up Walmart, $249 get them a i3 Laptop so they can look at the 'kids' pics while sitting in the living room, but then go into the kitchen and get 'Martha's recipe' without having to walk back and forth to the 'desktop' and they will be set. They will praise you as the best son in law ever.

NO APU is NOT on part with a i3 with a better GPU, unless your comparing it to a old i3-2xxx and on COD MW3 (back in 2009) for a comparison. APUs suck and are for Grandma to access Facebook, so it doesn't choke on Bubble Pop. Numerous articles show the problem, here in the summary:

LAUGHS!!!! OMG NO!!!! You want the 'Inlaws' mad and your wife kicking you out of the house don't you? First Saints Row is very... ahem... mature content that will usually make any such 'older' parents quite cross with you unless the Father himself already plays such things as GTA . You might as well showed up at the doorstep in thigh high garters, leather knee length Mistress boots, and offering a BONG HIT to them.... JUST WARNING.

Second warning, A10!!!! OMG NOOOOO not for gaming ever. It is made for cheap quick 'just to get on the Internet' computing. For that you can head to Walmart right now and for $249 get them either a desktop with FREE LCD or a simple laptop that could do 'simple computing'.

As your including BF4 and Saints Row with Sniper Memory seems to be all about 'gaming' but you didn't even include a GPU ?!??!?! And a 430W usually isn't enough to power a real GPU. Basically you can't "Gaming Rig" for around $500, normally you need to look at around $700, and you need to use REAL hardware, like a i5, FX-8xxx or a i7 CPU and Nvidia 7xx or AMD Rx GPUs.

You can use PC Parts Picks to look for parts, but really I would suggest something like this:

brand new Haswell i7 for only $600 (http://slickdeals.net/f/6657778-lenovo-h530-desktop-pc-...), upgrade the PSU ($90 for a 600W) then spend on a video card ($149-$499) and you got a kick ass rig for a long time.

I'll keep the games- bonus; this APU will brows and Skype pretty good I believe, above that it won't get pushed.
I sold my spare 6870's so an APU seams like the logical choice since ~on par with i3 with better GPU
You think the PS is too small? I'll use a calculator and do some checking; that was just a guess anyway....
I do have a 8120 sitting in a box but then would need a GPU added to the list that will never get its legs stretched. I noty going to buy a 6670/ 7750 when an APU will do the same... suggestions based on this??

Last paragraph "lags behind its competitors in general process performance. The Core i3-3220 is faster than the A10-5800K for day-to-day operations" also even in the gaming performance it is noted that while it did great in Starcraft II (a 2010 game made for low end systems) and okay on Far Cry 2 (2008) once you get to games past 2009-2010 (Bf3 was release end of 2011) the performance declines rapidly and FORGET anything just released (2013) as they don't work / unplayable (1-3FPS). Even if you added a GPU to a APU to try making up for it, the APU simply CHOKES the data that the GPU sits twiddling thumbs waiting for something to do.

Simply put APU is a nice tablet answer (the target market for the combination CPU+GPU processor) for low end, low cost, low power uses, but it won't be more then that marketspace.
