So as the title suggests, I'm trying to decide between these two builds that. Here's what I'm working with. Microcenter has some AMD CPU bundles going on right now and I'm trying to decide between these two for a cheap upgrade for a friend's now old gaming rig.
Here are the two options:
Build 1:
So those are the two builds I'm contemplating. My budget is $250 and I'm not sure when a GPU upgrade would be in the cards (though I reckon in a year or so). So what do you guys suggest? I'm also planning on overclocking both of these SOBs as much as they can possibly go with a Hyper 212 EVO.
Also, is there a chance later down the road for doing the Hybrid Crossfire with more than really awful R7 DDR3 cards?
Here are the two options:
Build 1:
A10 7850k $129
Gigabyte GA-F2A88XM-D3H A88x FM2 $30 (due to the bundle)
G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 $85
FX 6300 $109
970 Extreme4 AM3+ ATX $45 (again, due to bundle)
G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 $85
Instead of using the AMD APU's GPU, it would be using an AMD Radeon HD 4870
