How do I extend a PCIe 3.0 x16 video card?

The computer I want has a PCIe 3.0 x16 port on the motherboard, but the video card I want doesn't fit? Is there an extender that I can buy so the video card fits, but still has the same graphics, resolution, etc?

What video card are you wanting to use? Most video cards on the market support PCI Express 3.0 x16 slots. Is your computer one of those thin, low-profile computers?
