Hi there,

As the title suggests, I need to replace the 200mm Big Boy Fan on my Antec Nine Hundred case. (Non-USB 3.0 for what matters)

My question is, how do I actually get to it? I've searched countless forums and websites, including Antec's, but all they have is a blown out mechanical drawing, and haven't been able to find a concrete answer as to how to get to it.

I've tried taking it apart once, but got frustrated and put it back together after worrying I messed up the ground screw.

From what I've gathered, I need to:

  • unscrew 4-8 screws near the fan, including the ground
supposedly unscrew the hard drive cage
    remove the front face
and finally, push in the tabs to remove the top of the case to get to the fan

Before I go and try that, I'd just like to know if those are the correct steps or if there's a right way to do it. If possible, a step by step, well instructed, set of instructions would be great.

Thanks

Yeah I just actually found that post.

I have a cd/dvd drive in my top bay, will I have to remove that to get the two tabs in the front?

It was a while ago when I first tried this, I think that was part of my probably, getting those front ones.

Otherwise, Thanks!

Nukemaster had the best solution in removing and replacement of the Antec 200mm Big Boy top case fan with illustrations and steps for this. In my particular situation, I had 4 screws holding the fan and 4 screws retaining the top cover along with the 4 retaining clips. Once I removed all the necessary screws, I moved the top cover towards the front of the case to release it from the retaining clips and I just raised the top cover just enough to remove the fan and installed a new one. It was a very simple task thanks to Nukemaster.

1. Unscrew 4 screws retaining the fan, and 4 screw retained the top cover.

2. It is not necessary to remove the hard drive cage nor the front face.

3. Slide the top cover towards the front of the case clearing the 4 retaining clips.

4. Raise the top cover just enough so you can remove the fan and install a new one. (Be sure to disengage the wire for the power and the speed switch of the fan)

5. If you need to see the illustration and steps for replacement, go to the forum and check out Nukemaster reply which was very beneficial for me in replacing my 200 mm Big Boy fan. It made for a very simple procedure.
