As the title says, I built my first pc and started it up with the windows 7 disc in there, all the LED's are on and all the fans run but the monitor says "no signal". I've tried both VGA and DVI cables to no effect. I followed this link here for my build aside from the RAM(different brand same model), PSU, and GFX card. I also followed the PERFORM THESE STEPS list but also to no effect. Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bh455l3348s

Did you try connecting the monitor with motherboard's onboard graphics?

Thanks! Your solution got me thinking because the GFX card only had HDMI and the monitor was VGA or DVI so i went and bought a HDMI->DVI cable and it works! Thanks so much!
