setting up vista on laptop gpt problems

Hi guys
First timer posting here so sorry if I sound a bit simple I'm trying to set up a laptop with windows vista and it won't let me proceed from the where do you want to install windows screen as the selected disk is of the gpt partition style. Is there a way to switch this and proceed with my set up?

Neither Vista nor 7 support booting to GPT natively, only 8/8.1 does.

In order to fix the issue you have, you need to perform a low level format of the drive which cannot be done in the installation menu. You need to download another bootable program such as one included on Hirens BCD.
