Hello! I own a LG 24EA53 monitor and usually use separate speakers but recently I tried to get my monitor speakers working. I am using an HDMI cable which is directly connected to my MSI Lightning GTX 770. When I choose the monitor as the default playback device in Windows I don't get any sound. The monitor only seems to have an audio output on the back. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm looking at the specs for the monitor and it doesn't look like it has its own speaker. If there's an audio output on the back that means you'll have to hook up a pair of speakers or headphones in order to get sound.

Oh my, how silly of me! I was sure it did have some speakers. However now that I look on the website I cannot find any mentions of them, thank you!
