Me and some friends are planning to move in together while we go to college. There will be 5 of us. We all will have an xbox and cellphones connected to the wifi. So thats 10 devices running on one router. Would an extra router help with the poor internet connection we could face if we only used one router?
Thanks in advance.

depends on how fast your internet connection will be. 10 devices sharing a 1mbs the router wouldn't be any sort of restriction. on the other hand if you go 50mbs then make sure you get a good router with lots of bandwidth.

may be good idea to get one with bandwidth restrictions settings that way you can set up to where no one device can hog all the bandwidth. for example setting that no one device can use more then 50% of bandwidth at one time. (note you wouldn't set it evenly as not all devices will need all the speed at once but not to high as to use all the bandwidth)

No. Multiple 'routers' will not help the situation.

ISP -> modem -> router -> devices
Modem + router may be in the same physical box.

Everything flows through that primary router/modem. Adding another router does not help the upstream bandwidth. And the ISP will only talk to one modem. That modem only talks to one device....generally a router. Everything else depends off that primary router.
