Eh, that PSU is going to cut it close. The 7870 requires 28A from the +12V rail which the CX430 has. Be careful of the version you purchase. The CX430 only has ONE 6 pin PCI connector. Don't buy a 7870 that requires TWO 6-pin PCI connectors.

I would advise you to upgrade that PSU in a timely manner. You may not have any initial issues. But you may run into the issues later on.

Honestly, I think you should invest in a better PSU. You initially went cheap with the CX430 which as you see came back to bite you. While a 500w PSU is good, you can get more to support higher end cards and you can get a higher quality PSU too.

You get what you pay for. I always say, consider the PC as an investment not as a quick fix.

would this psu be good? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182133. will it be better than the one u linked me? just choose the 650 watt version!

Eh it's ok. It does have higher watts, but it only has a 3 year warranty. That's because it doesn't have high quality parts like the Seasonic I posted. Good PSU brands are Antec, Corsair, Seasonic and XFX. The have good capacitors and clean efficient power.
