Does the "Advance Boot Options" appears when you try to start your pc?
If yes, then, does the provided options worked?
If not, then you have to perform the windows repair
open this blog and follow the steps, this might help your problem:

Note: you can use a USB liveboot if you dont have Windows XP CD.

The answer to your question is one reason I consider NT 5 (aka Windows 2000/XP) the best windows version MS ever made.

Repair install, also known as an "in place upgrade" is the answer to your troubles.

Repair installs can still be done on newer versions but must be initiated from a working installation. But on 2000/XP, you can initiate it from the install cd. You will need an install cd and your windows key, but its a fantastic way to fix a non-booting 2000/XP system.
