First up thanks for taking the time to have an input into this,

Im building a new rig, and I have always gone Intel. Im mainly playing games, but have started down the OC road with my current rig running i7 920.
Basically with the new rig I was going to go either i5 4670k maybe even a i7 4770k.

ill be running thermaltake Level 10 GT LCS Edition Full Tower with water cooling integrated.

However the thought of AMD just crossed my mind. But I know nothing about them.

Any advice with pros and cons would be awesome. Thanks

Under $180, AMD is very competitive, over $180 and Intel is much better.

yea cool thanks, there is no real budget however I don't want to spend $1000 on a cpu. Looks like intel it is

If your mainly gonna play games Intel is your best bet as the single core preformance is quite better on an intel processor Amd is more multi threading which means its better for running more programs at once and is better for video rendering etc.

Amd processors tend to use more power over Intel
Amd processors also run hotter unless you have good after market cooling.

go for intel if your gonna game mostly.

the Intel i5 4670k is really good for gaming get it.

Even your 6 year old i7 can match the Fx 8350's single core performance. That should tell you something.
