We all have to clean out the insides of our computers once every few months but compressed air is not cheap and runs out quite quickly. I am just wondering if there are any good alternatives to cans of air that might be a worthy investment, or even better, that I might already have. And please don't tell me to buy an air compressor because those cost enough to buy enough canned air to last well beyond my lifetime.

That electric blower looks pretty good. This is only a bit cheaper and ultimately could have a lot more power, but just a choice to consider: for less than $35 you can get a 5 gal. air tank, fill it up at the gas station and then it would give you a lot of air for quite a while. You really only need about 30 to 40 PSI of output pressure, but this model doesn't have an output regulator, but perhaps the shut off valve will work effectively the same . You'd also need a $5 pistol grip sprayer. I found this on Amazon. There may be something cheaper. I use a cheapy 2 gallon compressor ($80 at Wmart) and it does the job so well I have to bring the computer outside because so much imbedded dust comes flying out in all directions, makes a...

Old thread but I feel it needs a warning. I looked into a air tank/compressor when I used to repair computers. When you compress air, you also compress the moisture in the air. Air tools usually recommend a moisture filter with use, so I would not recommend using this method on your computer. Most air compressors have a drain valve on the bottom to remove that moisture that becomes water in the tank. If you use a compressor or fill an air tank from one, you might be blowing more moisture and/or water onto your electronics than is safe.
