So I recently bought a brand new PC for making and playing games. but every time i just get into something the PSU clicks and it restarts (the PSU always clicks when the pc turns off).

It happens very often, mostly when I'm tweaking my bloom shaders while making a game or when Im playing games. It varies game to game, games like Arkham Origins Far Cry 3 or Blood Dragon seem to be worse off than others, while some games don't restart my PC at all (BF3 and GTAiv with icenhancer).

Its so weird and odd and i just don't know why its happening. Like I mentioned the PC is quite new.

Specs:

gigabyte b85m-d3h
intel Xeon E3-1230v3 @ 3.3ghz
HIS Radion 7870ghz
8GB 1333
Silverstone Strider 500w 80+

According Speccy, CPU-z and GPU-z the temperatures and stuff looks normal from what I can tell. but I'm not an expert)

Here's a puush from my stress testing:

(i under stand its natural for fluctuation like that on the 12v rail?)

Thanx for the help.

Other usefull stuff. Im using windows 8 and I regularly update my drivers and bios.

Thanx, my action plan is to get a corsair gs800. It was my natural suspicion as well. Thanx for the input, I will use it as conformation. To be safe, Ill also get 16gb of 1600mhz RAM and a r9 290. To be safe. And to run newer games maxed out at 60fps.

From my understanding the 800w gs800 will be good enough for a 290
