Hello guys, my gtx 275 just died and I want to change it with a 7870 ghz edition.
My question is will the x2 720 CPU bottleneck this card ?
tnx in advance

Yes i believe it will as the phenom x2 720 is really old and wont be able to keep up with the 7870
plus if your upgrading you will more or likely need a new PSU to power the new Gpu can you list specs if possible?

Yes the Phenom X2 720 will bottleneck it, it's architecture is extremely outdated and wont be able to keep up with the card. If you have an extra $100 to spend, I recommend buying a A75 AM3+ motherboard and a Phenom II X4 965, that'll ease the bottleneck (I'm not sure if it'll still bottleneck it since the 965 is fairly old of age as well, but it's not a dual core at the least)

Looking on the Gigabyte website your MB will only support up to a quad core phenom II you will need a new motherboard and processor for sure if you want that new gpu your psu will be ok as long as its a branded one.

do you have a budget for all this if so state it and ill find you a new motherboard and processor to go with it.

Tnx again for the feedback.
It will be easier if I can just change the video card with something close to the gtx 275 or better.
Its a good thing I asked here, a dude in the store told me the CPU and motherboard can run a 7870.

You could get this but I'd suggest just improving the CPU and the GPU altogether...
