Team Fortress 2 won't launch?

Okay, so I recently updated windows 7, and TF2 won't launch. Every time I try to launch it, It says "Preparing to launch team fortress 2" However, the game never launches. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

All answers are appreciated.

The reason there is no "Run as administrator" is because the shortcut created is an internet shortcut, and has no .exe file linked to it. You need to create a shortcut to the actual file that launches the game, and then run that as administrator, or just run the file itself as administrator.

I have a shortcut on my desktop, but I don't have the option to run as administrator

Click Start
In "Search programs and files", type uac.
Click on "Change User account Control Settings"
Is this on "Never Notify"? If so, the "Run as administrator" option is not required and is perhaps not available.
Maybe you just need to un-install TF2 and download it again.

Nope, it wasn't, It was on "default - notify me only when programs try to make changes on my computer" and under that it said "Don't notify me when I make changes to Windows settings. AndI should add in that I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, it didn't work.

so what i did is i went to task manager and went to prossecess and then deleted the steam process and then ran tf2 again and it worked
