I dont see games utilizing 16 gigs of ram for a couple of decades but if you wish to have this future proof, it's a really good build man. This could last some decades (unless some developer makes some beast, ultra mega real life simulator that can only be played at 1337k resolution), you're in good hands.

I'm mainly just looking to use this build for gaming...I was looking to put something together that would last me the next several years and I could upgrade periodically

Everything is good except you don't need an i7 4770k for gaming an i5 4670k will give you the same performance in gaming, 16gb of RAM is also unnecessary gaming will only ever use up to 4gb and we recommend the extra 4gb for a total of 8gb so you can have apps like skype, teamspeak, browsers, steam etc open in the background. Use the money saved by following my suggestions to get a GTX 780TI

Pal, your top end processor isnt aimed at gamers, intel have covered that for half the price; Spending more doesnt help.

You should go with a i5-5670K and 8GB of RAM as suggested above and also might want to put the saved money into something else like a better peripherals other than a 780Ti as I personally don't think the performance gained is worth the extra 200$.
