hi!

this thing is really driving me crazy! first off, i have Windows 8.1 Pro fully updated. whenever I try and install the driver and software, nothing comes up. Like the driver would be useless. The only thing this damn machine keeps telling me, on the device tab, is that my card is a "Generic PnP monitor". and it is not even under the Game controller tab, it's under Monitor tab.

If someone know anything about that, i think i'm going crazy.

also, note for everything. They have the shittiest customer support in the world, half the links on their website is broken link, can't even download driver properly, the manual is utterly useless (empty/blank). anyway!

thanks!

I wonder if that might be your web browser cause I have that exact same card and I go to there website and all links work for me. I have latest firmware on card and drivers. I just updated firmware a couple days ago.

Look under Display Adapters for your graphics card. Most monitors will be Generic PnP in device manager unless the manufacture decided to write a driver for it, which most don't.

update : i went on the website with firefox instead of chrome and it seems that all the link aren't broken anymore. that's one good thing. I download the driver on THEIR website and i'm going to try that... right now.

didn't work. still telling me my Live gamer HD is a generic PNP monitor. i've got a DVI-hdmi that's going from my GTX 570 to the avermedia and that's the only connection i have on it.

When installing drivers/firmware update. I believe it says not to have anything hooked to the capture card.
What monitor do you have?

a Samsung 120hz monitor, bought it last year. But i plan on using the second DVI port on my GTX570 to hook up the Avermedia and a second monitor i have, which is a LG 60hz pretty standard monitor.

i've tryed going threw my samsung monitor, i get an image but all the windows seems way bigger and the Avermedia still doesn't show as a game controller but a Generic PnP monitor.

i'm going to try updating every Drivers in my computer. I still have the stock windows 8.1 drivers that came with the installation which might be outdated.

alright it's done! I did it, thanks for the help everyone.

For future notice or to everyone who have this problem. My motherboard was cutting power off my first PCIE x1 slot when my graphic card was just below it, so i had to swap my GTX570 on another PCI slot so i went into the BIOS and set it up correctly.

Also, i updated every god damn driver in my tower, which probably helped.

so when it says Generic PnP monitor, it's probably because it's hooked too close to your GPU.
