Ram: 16gb ddr3
CPU: 3.7 GHZ Overclocked to 4 ( I think)
Power supply: 230w
Motherboard: I think MSI 2AE0 (Say's that on cpuid

Your motherboard is fine but you will need a new PSU to run them, also I need to know what CPU you have.

The only upshot to an AMD card is that since he has a lower end CPU, and specifically an APU, he would benefit a lot from mantle, as well as HSA, if that ever becomes a thing like it seems mantle will.

Well then go for the GTX 760 it does a great deal better for 40 more dollars then the R9 270X, and right now only the beta drivers are out for Mantle on AMD cards.
