Do I need to go custom to get a laptop with these high-end specs?

  • High res or ultra high res, 1920x1080 min or better
    15.6 or 17.3 IPS
    Touch screen
    80 or 128GB SSD + 1.0TB 7500rpm
    Haswell i5 or i7
    As light as possible
    NO built-in DVD

The 'gotcha' seems to be my storage needs.
I want the speed of a SSD for operating system, apps, and files that I need very fast access to.

I need the storage of 750gb or 1TB on the laptop itself.

If there's nothing that's a perfect fit, what's the closest thing?

Do you want ULV, or do you need a full quad core CPU? If ULV is okay, go for the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon. With everything you want it could run you for ~2000 dollars, storage and all. Why do you need a touchscreen? It really isn't essential. With that in mind, here's a fairly good option for you.

For its quad core i7 and dedicated GPU, as well as 128GB SSD and 1TB HDD. most people will never need to go into the custom sector, they just don't know where to look.
Your storage needs should be the EASIEST of the issues. There are plenty of laptops out there with two drive bays, and heck, you can get a normal laptop, take out the dvd player (since you don't seem to want that) and put in a DVD bay to SSD adapter.

You could also use any slim laptop, since most of them have an mSATA port which you could put a SSD in.
