When fraps isnt recording, my fps is fine, but when it starts recording, it drops to 20 or less. It probably is my laptop though: Processor: AMD A8-5545M APU with Radeon HD 8150G graphics 1.70 GHz RAM: 4GB installed, 3.19 GB usable System: x64-based processor
true haha but i guess i need confirmation, like ARE those settings good for these things?
FRAPS is very resource intensive. I'm not surprised you are having slow downs such as you are.
Marcro, the reason you have a low fps with fraps is because when recording the main issue is your harddrive not your cpu not your graphic card, although those things are required to set a base fps. Then that base fps is recorded on the harddrive. Now in default the recorder records at like 400 mb/sec or so which the harddrive CAN NOT write at causing the low fps.To solve this problem you need a decompressed codec to record games on your current harddrive. Dx tory offers 6 different codecs including raw and decompressed one which will not hit your fps at all.
