Approximate Purchase Date: In a month

Budget Range: ~60k INR : 1000$

System Usage from Most to Least Important: (e.g.: Folding@Home, gaming, surfing the internet, watching movies): Gaming, Watching Movies & Surfing

Are you buying a monitor: No

Parts to Upgrade:

Old System Config:
CPU - Intel E6600
Motherboard - Intel DG965RY
GPU - ATI 4850 (Dead)
RAM - Transcend 4X1GB DDR2
Monitor - Dell SP2208WFP (Keeping)
PSU - Corsair VX550 (Keeping)
HDD - 3.25TB (2+1+0.25) (Keeping)
Cabinet - CM 690 (Mostly Keeping)

Following components have caught my eye in brief search

CPU - Intel i7 4770k or i5 4670k
Motherboard - Asus Z87 Pro
GPU - Was looking out for R9 280x but prices r
Ram - 8GB (Corsair?)
Cabinet - Tempted to get CM Storm Trooper but if my first gen CM 690 is sufficient for the new gen cards then I would rather invest that amount in something else.

Do you need to buy OS: No

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: Flipkart.com, primeabgb.com, snapdeal.com

Location: City, State/Region, Country - Pune, India.

Parts Preferences: by brand or type
Processor: Intel
RAM: Corsair

Overclocking: Yes

SLI or Crossfire: No

Your Monitor Resolution: 1680x1050

Additional Comments: Might add CPU Watercooler if its needed.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: Gfx card broke down & I guess current setup will bottleneck newer gen cards ...

More about : upgrade 60k inr 1000 procci mobo ram gpu

I5 for gaming is enough and you could go for the r9 270x since you play in lower resolution. Do you plan to overclock because you did not write about cpu cooler? 2x4GB from Corsair with 1600MHz is good and the mainboard is ok.

First Thing. Buy from snapdeal. Its cheaper. (I am an Indian).

1. Intel 3.4 GHz LGA1150 4670K i5 4th Generation Processor

2. MSI Z87-G43 Motherboard

3. MSI R9 280X GAMING 3G Graphic Card

4. Corsair DDR3 4GB Desktop RAM x2

5. Case- Keep that you have or get one of your choice. Looks is more of a personal choice. I will recommend Antec X1.

The GPU is overkill for low resolution.

I plan to overclock but at later stage, maybe 6-8 months down the line...

Thanks ! Any particular reason for MSI over Asus ? Few months ago I heard MSI is shutting shop here, dunno how far that was true.
Will be going for Watercooling few months down the line, so for start should suffice ?

Plan to hook it up to Full HD TV just to play games (5-7 days a month), + will be retiring my current monitor later in the year. Will go for 2k or 4k resolution monitor at that time, for that which gfx card will you suggest ??

Better to get 2k monitor because for 4k you will need 2 GPUs in crossfire/sli like r9 290 x2 or GTX 780 x 2 and for 2k you can go with the r9 280x or GTX 770 depending on price.

I equally like MSI and Asus (and sapphire for video cards). There is no specific reason. Same company components give a better aesthetic appearance. The MSI z87 gd65 board will very well compliment the card I suggested but that is a bit costly. I was actually suggesting u the MSI z87 g43 gaming motherboard but it is out of stock everywhere. The colour scheme red and black look very cool. I found it on ebay though
http://www.ebay.in/itm/msi-z87-g43-gaming-intel-z87-exp.... This board will perform very well and will also add to the aesthetic appearence. On the Asus side, I would have recommended the Z87-A but that is, costly :p .

If you like to have an AMD option, the FX 8320 or 8350 is a good option. The money that you save here can be invested in an SSD. SSD will be a great addition to this system.

There is no official news about MSI shutting down in India (Some rumors though, because msi dont have a dedicated Indian webpage) but service centres are present at major locations.

Yup will mostly go for 2k resolution monitor only, 4k will cost a comb !

Never looked at AMD as an option but if it allows me to buy +1 category gfx card n SSD compared to Intel build then I would like to explore that option too :)  ...
MSI Z87 G43 looks good !

A little change in plans...

As of now finalised following components:

Procci: i7 4770k
GPU: Sapphire Tri-X 290
PSU: Seasonic X-750 (Corsair VX550 won't be sufficient I guess, + its 3yr old. Any better alternatives to this?)

Still confused about motherboard.

Should I go with Asus Z87 Pro / Maximus VI Hero or any better alternative is available in this category?

Decided to go for i7, 290 & mainstream mobo just for the sake of "Futureproofing"... Will be keeping this RIG for 5-6 years...
