I'm among the group of people who's too poor to afford water cooling at the moment, but concerned enough about temperatures to keep GPUz running on my second monitor while I game.
I have an R9-290, which as you've probably heard is designed with a target temperature of 95c. I have the Catalyst software set to ramp the fan up starting at 75c, just because.
Recently while gaming, (specifically Half-Life: Source), I encountered some rather serious graphical corruption that I've often seen attributed to an overheating GPU, but at the time it occurred my GPU was running around 65-70c. I happened to be recording with Fraps at the time, so I've included a clip showing what happened.
Any idea what is going on here?
