From onboard sound to ODAC

Hi fellow computer users, I would like to know if I would notice a significant difference switching from onboard sound from an asus z87 mobo to the odac from jds labs. I generally listen to music that ranges from 256 vbr to flac in bit rate and I use a Logitech z623 speaker system. I never get audio dysfunctions (clicks, pops, etc) so my reason for getting one would be soley for listening luxury. I hear that being a higher end speaker system and a cheaper sound solution could yield more audible results, but i feel a little lazy for that and only care about getting the odac (or another dedicated sound solution) if my ears can tell the difference on these speakers, which were a very large improvement over my pervious cheap(er) speaker set.

Thank you! That is actually a very enlightening video, BUT the man didn't give his insight on whether an external DAC would result in an audible difference to a slightly-more-than-casual listener, paying attention to the clarity of the chordal or melodic layering, which I really want to know about
