I have an Asus EEE pc4G loaded with Win XP Pro bought second-hand. It worked well for a while but is now showing lsass.exe system error. I have tried everywhere to get a recovery disc. Ideally I would like to download to a usb stick. I am not at all technically minded but I'll try anything to get my little machine going again.

Thank you Xcom46. I will try to explain as clearly as I can:
On switching on the machine it starts to open Windows XP. It then shows the lsass.exe system error message. If I press the OK button it will then go on to try to open but cannot and loops back to the opening page, then the lsass message.
Before this started the system seemed to work well but then I started getting messages saying that the memory was full and to remove unnecessary files. The machine was only used for accessing the internet and I couldn't find anything to delete. I think that the downloads from Microsoft everytime I opened Windows probably filled it up and it has become inoperable.
I have tried doing a system restore without success. Pressing F2 and then F9 did not get me anywhere.
I do have a linux restore disc from another machine and I wonder whether it might get this machine going again - but I'm scared to try!
