I'm looking to build a new gaming rig since my old one is now well out of date and I wanted to get some opinions on what I've come up with. Here's what I've put together:

Computer Case Black ATX Tower Case
CPU Intel i7 4770 - (4 x 3.5 GHZ) - Haswell
CPU Heatsink Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro V2 - Low Noise
Memory 8 GB Corsair Dominator Platinum 2400 MHz (2x4GB) - Lifetime Warranty (DDR3)
Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 - 3 GB - (ZOTAC) - (PCI-E)
Motherboard Gigabyte B85M-HD3 (Intel B85)
Sound Card Motherboard Integrated HD Sound
Networking Motherboard Integrated Ethernet Lan (Broadband Ready)
Power Supply Corsair 650W PSU - Low Noise
Hard Drive #1 2 TB Seagate (2000 GB) SATA-III HDD 7200 RPM 64MB
Optical Drive #1 Samsung 24x DVD/CD Re-Writer/Reader - Black - (SATA)

In terms of my budget, while it doesn't technically have a limit I want to try and keep it around £1000, not counting the VAT as I can get that off, or as close as possible. Any opinions or advice on how I can improve this or any changes I should make to avoid any potential bottlenecks or problems would be greatly appreciated.

It is more for video editing and rendering etc because of HT. Only few games have some benefit for it now but it could be better for the future. You can still get a CPU with HT for only few $ more than an i5 if you get the Xeon 1230v3 4x3.3GHz with HT which can run all cores at 3.7GHz when you change it in BIOS and it is also an i7 with 100-200MHz less. If you dont want to overclock and use HT maybe in future you can go for it since it is not that expensive.
