PC Build Criticism

Overview: I have recently decided to build a computer, and I have done a lot of research but I am still shaky on what to look for, and I do not know if what I am building is an overkill for what I need. Any advice would help a lot (I live in the United States).

What I do: I am a young graphic designer and I work a lot with Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and Cinema 4d.

Budget: Seeing as this is my first build I would like to keep it around $1,300 dollars, if it goes a little over that is fine.

CPU: I have decided to go for an Intel CPU. I do not know which one to choose though. I am leading toward the Core i7 4770k since it has hyper-threading and it has a good price. Most likely, I will overclock the CPU. Also the i7 4930k looks good too, but it's a little out of my budget.

CPU Cooler: I am on the fence, I do not know if I want a Noctua HN-D14 or an H100i/H80i. I do not know if the H100i will fit my case (Fractal Define R4). In addition, the Noctua NH-D14 is massive, so I do not know if it may block some things. I have seen some people having trouble installing RAM with the Noctua since it is so big. I will not be moving my computer much so the Noctua should be fine. The price difference is not much I just do not know which one would be better for water-cooling.

Mother Board: When it comes to motherboards, I am completely overwhelmed and confused. The Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD4H ATX LGA1150 Motherboard looks good if I were to go with the 4770k. Any help would be much appreciated!

Memory: I was thinking about getting the maxed out 32 GB of memory right off the bat, instead of getting 16 GB then later realizing I need more. I thought the G.SKILL Sniper Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) would do good, any opinions. Is 32 GB overkill?

Storage: I want to put my operating system on a 128 GB SSD, and then have one WD Caviar Blue 1TB HD for all my other files. Any opinions or suggestions?

Graphics Card: At this point, I do not think I will get a graphics card. I have read a lot of forums and information pertaining to Photoshop and C4D, and they say that they do not really rely on graphics cards at this point. I do not game at all, so I do not think I need one. If anybody has any opinions on this, I would be willing to change. I know graphics cards get pricey; I would want to stick around $200.

Power Supply: I am not sure what I want in a power supply, but the SeaSonic SSR-550RM is 80+ Gold which sounds good? Its 550 watts, do I need more since I do plan to overclock?

Case: I have already bought a Fractal Design R4, I fell in love with it, so there is no changing it.

Optical Drive: I was going to get a simple Asus optical drive. If you have any opinion, I am interested and willing to change.

Here is a link for my current build: ( http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2Q6js ). Change anything you want I am open to all suggestions.

Thanks,
Luka

16GB is enough I think and the volt should be lower.

I just mentioned a GPU that would fit in your price range if you decide to get one now or later. I dont see why you should use one when you can do all work with the integrated GPU and dont intend to play games.

Even if you use a GPU with that system and overclock the PSU would be fine since it has good quality.

Looks very good but the RAM could make problems. PSU will be enough with OC and you use only the integrated GPU. SSD is very good too. This would be a solid GPU for your price range if you decide to get one: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-video-card-gvr927oc2gd

Compatibility Notes

G.Skill Sniper Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR3-2133 Memory operating voltage of 1.6V exceeds the Intel Haswell CPU recommended maximum of 1.5V+5% (1.575V). This memory module may run at a reduced clock rate to meet the 1.5V voltage recommendation, or may require running at a voltage greater than the Intel recommended maximum.

Thanks a bunch!! What would you recommend for RAM? Should I drop down to 16 GB, or is there another 32 GB option that would work?

Also, would the power supply need to change if I choose the Gigabyte GPU?

One last question, this probably sounds dumb, but why would I need the graphics card, does it help with anything besides gaming? Adobe only supports a limited range of graphics cards. What other benefits would come from the GPU? Sorry if this sounds dumb, I don't know much about graphics cards :\

Thank you SOOOO much StarBG!
