I need help deciding which LGA 1155 socket mother board to buy. I currently have an ASUS P8Z68 Deluxe/GEN3 with a bad SATA socket, one or more of those sockets keeps killing the new internal hard drives. I have ordered 4 sets of brand new internal hard drives and every time it kills them.
Calling ASUS support to figure out what could be wrong has been atrocious at best. ASUS did not offered any solutions or even a way for me to return the mother board via RMA.
I took the computer to a computer repair shop, purchased a new 850 watts PSU, they checked it out, the voltage was normal coming from the PSU from the mother board and said the only thing left was a faulty mother board with a bad SATA socket, but no way to test for that. I took their word since I don't know anything on how to test for such problems.
They recommended I would replace the mother board. I have between $250 to $300 budget. I do video and photo editing. I will not be gaming on this system what so ever.
This is the CPU and GPU I will be using:
2nd Gen.(Sandybridge) Intel Core i7 2600K 3.4GHz
EVGA nVidia GTX 560 1GB (I know it's not the fastest for graphics but it works for the amount of After Effects I use)
I just want a motherboard that will be reliable and the company will have good costumer support if anything happens.
