Hello. This is my first time posting here. I have searched hard to figure out what my problem is. I found many with similar problems but none fixed my issue. So I'll get straight to the point.

I have built my PC 2 years ago and it has been running flawlessly until today. Today it decided not to boot at all. When I switched it on I could here the fans but had no VGA display. So naturally I opened up the case and noticed that the MemOk LED was red. I went ahead and removed both RAM sticks and reseated them. Still no boot. The RAM where in slot 2 and 4 as recommended. So I left one stick in slot number 2 and it worked. The PC booted up fine. But I didn't buy 8GB of RAM just to use 4. I wanted to make sure that both sticks were fine so I replaced it and it booted up fine too. I tried both sticks again and nothing. So I went all the way and removed every component and installed them back including the CPU but that didn't help. I also went into BIOS and set the RAM voltage at 1.65v but that didn't solve the problem either. The motherboard is an ASUS P8Z68-V and the RAM is Corsair Vengeance 2x4GB (It's in the compatibility list for my motherboard)

What's really bothering me is why was my PC running smoothly yesterday and today it decided to give up on me! I thank anyone in advance for the advice you may have for me.

If the other slots don't work, sounds like one of your RAM cards decided to die.

If you have a RAM that works in #2 slot. Please try the other RAM card in that slot. That shoul tell you if the RAM is bad or the #4 slot is bad.

Good Luck
