I am somewhat of a novice when it comes to building a pc so I would apreciate any advice!

processor: AMD FX-6300 Vishera 3.5GHz (4.1GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 95W Six-Core/$120

PSU: Rosewill Stallion Series RD700 700W/$65

GPU: Galaxy Geforce GTX 760 GC/$213

RAM:
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB/$85

Case: NZXT Source 210 S210-002 ATX Mid-Tower computer case/$40

CPU Cooler:Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO/$35

Hard Drive: Western Digital 1TB 7200RPM Hard Drive/$60

Would this work well?

Any suggestions to make it better without making it more expensive?
Any advice is appreciated! Thanks!

You've pretty much nailed it on the head, infact the only thing I'd change is your powersupply. If you do plan on going Crossfire/Sli later down the line then I would suggest keeping with the Rosewill or perhaps buying an XFX or Seasonic power supply of the same wattage.

I changed from the Rosewill stallion RD700 simply because the Corsair CX500 will do your system perfectly fine and it's also got a £20 rebate from Newegg right now, making it a cheap $30.
Also, I'd go with the galaxy GTX 760 since it's $30 cheaper, I just put the ASUS one there just because the Galaxy one isn't on the list I used.

I'll also add, do you have a specific need or budget in mind? If I know that I could suggest something more suited for you.

I'd still go with what you've put down.
I can't really see how you could beat the build you've done for the price-to-performance. The 760 for $216 will be great.
If you want to save a little bit of cash, about $20, then you could buy the ASRock 970 PRO3 R2.0 ATX AM3+ and the Patriot signature 8gb of RAM at Newegg and receive a nice $20 reduction, shown below.

CPU: AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor ($119.99 @ Newegg)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($29.98 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: ASRock 970 PRO3 R2.0 ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($64.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: Patriot Viper 3 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($74.99 @ NCIX US)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($59.66 @ OutletPC)
Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 760 2GB Video Card ($249.99 @ NCIX US)
Case: NZXT Source 210 Elite (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case ($42.98 @ Best Buy)
Power Supply: Corsair Builder 500W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($29.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $662.57
