long term over-clocking damage

About to order 2x8GB G.Skill 2400MHz Trident sticks for my new build, based on the Asus Maximus VI Formula and Haswell i7 K.

I understand Ram normally runs at 1.5v, but these Tridents run at 1.65v. This is, I imagine, what is required to get that 2400MHz but is this a clean solution i.e. is it sustainable, long-term or will the board burn out quicker.

I also heard mention the possibility of some kind of throttling concerning haswell specs not liking 1.65v?

Any info/ideas would be most appreciated.
Thanks.

Solution
Nope, you're fine, I've been running the 32GB set of 2400 Tridents since May of 2012 in my IB build, no problems and fully expect it to be running years from now :)

Will do. Won't be finished this build for a while though, budgeting quite tightly at the moment...

One more thing though, would I be better to get all the memory in one go (32BG) so all 4 modules match or does this only apply in pairs? And if this 'matching' also applies to 4s, what difference would I notice - if any?
Cheers...

Oops! too late, ordered them last night!
What kind of problems can I look forward to then?

Might get sets that won't play together, XMP is programmed by the set, so may have some problems in the advanced timings - then again, if the BIOS is in good shape there might not be any problems, when you get the sticks try them and if any problem give me a shout to this thread or PM me

Ok, I'll see how things go when I eventually get round to ordering the other 16GB. That'll be ages from now though, just looking forward to getting it up and running for now. I've still to order the Motherboard, CPU and GFX cards (thought the prices might drop a bit further:) Got the rest though of it though - Dark Rock Pro 3 just arrived today :) Hopefully that ASUS bios is as good as they say it is!....
Thanks again for your help.
