pc wont turn on?

msi z87 g45

I have everything but the cpu cooler, gpu, and ram. When I tired to turn it on, just to test, nothing happens. is this normal?

well it could be a few things. first, maybe you need the cpu cooler plugged in for the mobo to detect it plugged in. second, the cords that connect to the case's power button to the mobo have to be plugged in properly. the manual should tell you how to do it. for example, it will show you where the positive and negative cords need to be plugged in. on the plastic piece of the cord there should be a triangle near the whole indicating a positive wire. once the cords are properly placed in the motherboard i don't see why it shouldn't turn on. i hope this helps
