Hello,
I'm trying to build a cheap gaming pc for around 500$. I'd Love to have an i7 but an i5 is fine.
8gb RAM required. I,d Like to be able to play Skyrim on Highish settings. I also Java code and run CPU intensive Software. I also need a DVD drive. I'd like to have an awesome looking case and I play for long periods of time so good cooling is required. I need 4 USB ports, 1+ HDMI ports, and 1 Ethernet Port. Quad Core would be nice. I'd like a decent graphics/video card. I know quite a bit about building pcs I just dont know whats compatible what works together. This Post is a mess I dont really know the order these should be presented in. Thank You all for your help and a Link to the parts would help. Thanks again,
~Chance

Are there any parts you're carrying over from a previous build like an HDD and OS?

For 500, this is probably about the best you can do. And it would require extra for windows and a dedicated GPU. Skyrim would play decently(not on ultra or anything) on the hd 4600 integrated graphics, and when you save another 2-300 bucks, you can add a nice graphics card. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboBundleDetails.aspx?I...

The first one I linked only comes with 4gb. The second one might actually be your best bet. The PSU is not gonna be a really good one, but it would be an 15, with 8 gigs of ram, and widowns preinstalled, for 425 bucks. You probably arent going to find a better deal.

I would really like to build one because we'll it's something I've always wanted to do. But the motherboard can it support a second ram stick. I'm not good with computer parts and what the accept. But I'm good enough if I had parts I could put one together.
