Currently I have 2 Samsung 840 Evo's in a RAID 0 but i don't see any major performance increase from the drives. I was running a single Samsung 830

Rig:
Asus Rampage VI Formula Z87 (bios 1302)
i7 4770k
EVGA 780
gSkill 4x4
2 Samsung 840 250g Evo (RAID 0)
WD Black 2tb (storage)
Samsung 830 128g (not used)
Windows 7 Home prem 64

How should I set up my drives to get optimal performance?
I dont do much but play a few games.

You don't by chance have Rapid Mode enabled do you?
If so disable it!

I do not know for sure.

The drives are listed as "intel raid 0 volume" so magician will only give me storage capacity info and nothing that pertains to what you would see with a normal Samsung SSD.

I have been doing a bit of research on forums and things and found on toms that SSD in a raid setting do well on a benchmark setting and a "maxed out" environment. But in real world usage a single SSD as a OS drive and a single SSD as an application drive or one large SSD is better.

Am i looking into this incorrectly or am i missing something?

I would look into bios and port set-up.
Your mobo has two seperate chipsets for sata. intel and Asmedia.
You should double check if that's all connected correctly and make sure you have the latest intel chipset.
Otherwise I agree with using one ssd as main os drive and the other as storage.
