Hi im a first time user but long time reading i want to build a desktop for audio production and basic photoshop and video editing my budget is $600-1000 it will be done within month. I guess i dont need a monitor i will use my tv through hdmi. This will be my first build i have zero knowledge about this. I live by a microcenter so i guess i will get my parts there. I also have an audio interface if that helps. Your honest and expertise is greatly appreciated.
Im looking for the best cpu and ram performance possible. At least 1tb of hard drive i have an 500gb external harddrive.

Solution
here is some suggestions that are all available @MC

they have good deals on i7 and motherboard bundles- the hyperthreading of the i7 over the i5 will come in handy for video editing if you find yourself doing that often -if not than do an i5 bundle:
Grand Total (pre-tax) $304.98 (its 289.98 after rebate)
Intel Core i7 4770K MSI Z87-G41

since the i7 (and i5) has graphics on it (igpu) on it and the motherboard has HDMI connection, no needto get a graphics card. also it will be very, very low wattage so no sense in getting a big hinking power supply so this will do fine:
Builder Series CX430 430 Watt $39.99

again if doing video editing, the more RAM the better, still you might want to get 16Gb if you are heavily multi...
Honestly you can do audio production on a laptop in most cases, as it is not an extremely intensive process

get something like an i5 cpu and 8gb of almost any ram that is 1600mhz, then hard drives and disc drives. the main thing you may want is say a firewire card and perhaps a sound card with the right inputs (asus xonar essence is a good one)

Basically go to pcpartpicker.com and it will guide you through building a computer. speed isnt really a huge issue for audio production or photoshop, and video editing the i5 does great for the price.

again if doing video editing, the more RAM the better, still you might want to get 16Gb if you are heavily multi asking in various audio programs or have large files open:
Ballistix Sport 16GB DDR3-1600 $139.99

now for storage; SSDs are cheap and most will be great so i just found an inexpensive 240Gb that will be plenty to hold all your programs and operating system with room to spare.
M500 Series 240GB $134.99

but that won't be all - programs such as photoshop like to have a separate "cache" drive for working files:
Black 1TB 7,200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive WD1003FZEX $79.99

BUT oh noes! we aren't done yet. there still could be a need to store all the media, media and more media!:
Desktop Mainstream 3TB IntelliPower SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive WDBH2D0030HNC-NRSN Add to Cart to see price
(i did ad to the cart and i believe it was ~$90)

now you have to burn your work to a disc, right?
ASUS DRW-24B1ST Internal DVDR/RW Burner - OEM $19.99

ok, that puts the total @ $810 but if you want a blu ray burner you're looking at $860 w/o a case (which can run from $20 to $220) and an operating system that would be $100 to $140.

these are all suggestions to help you get an idea what you may want to consider. i am assuming your audio interface is USB 2.0/3.0 compatible so i forego the sound card.

hope it helps.

Thanks for your quick response...in that case would you think a build will be my best choice? I have never built a computer before most work i have done in one was just replacing the cpu fan and add more ram nothing to that extent but im willing to try

Id say roughly go with the build from the guy above. get a z87 motherboard and the i5 or the i7 k version 4xxxk for example. the i7 will be a little bit faster for video editing and rendering, so you it's up to you whether or not you wanna save some money, or go for the i7
an ssd is GREAT, but you are going to need mass storage if you are doing this kinda stuff, so go with western digital hard drives and go with whatever speed and capacity you need (the Green labeled ones are good for being cheap while the black and red versions are quite fast, but nowhere near a ssd)
