corrupt desktop can not use desktop

my desktop became corrupt and i cant access files copy files or use the hard drive using usb how would i fix the file or delete it and create a new desktop file that is usable the desktop can not copy files however i can use the trash can. i am using windows 7 ultimate 64 bit

the desktop it self the file is now corrupt so i cant copy files to the desktop file other files work with no issue. however i cant use my hard drive dock and on other pcs because it showsup as the whole hard drive is cupport

The first thing to try is Windows Restore.
Choose a restore point before this happened.

It probably won't work, but it is worth a try.
The first thing viruses, and malware usually do is screw with Windows Restore.

If that doesn't work, then next is System Restore, if you have it.

If you don't have System Restore, then it is a clean install with the disk.

What brand computer?
It would make it a lot easier to help you.
