Looking to build a gaming PC for around $900.. obviously lower if possible. I really only play counter strike but if I'm going to build a new PC i might as well try to make it with the future in mind. Here are my thoughts as of now:

- AMD FX 8350 8 Core: $189.00
-ASRock 970 EXTREM3 R2.0 motherboard: $109.00
-MSI GTX 760: $239.00
-Kingston HyperX Blu (2x4gb) DDR3-1600: $76.47
-Corsair CX Series 750Watt: $89.60
-WD Blue 1TB HD 3.5 Inch 7200 RPM SATA 6Gb/s: $59.99
Subtotal: $765.94 all from amazon.

Still deciding on a case, I'm thinking a fractal case for around $100. Im also debating between processors I'm not sure if an i5 would be better or not. Thanks for the help in advance, let me know if I'm missing anything and if this looks good! :)

The above comment about Skyrim being 40% slower not mattering isn't quite accurate. For one thing, it's just an example, and there are plenty of others. Why look at benchmarks at all if you're going to get the one that does worse anyway?

For another thing, that's an AVERAGE result. I drop below 60FPS periodically on the LOW END despite achieving 100FPS average (i7-3770K/GTX680). That is due to the CPU at times.
My advice is something like THIS: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2QyxV

Whatever PSU you get, make sure it has the proper 6/8-pin connectors AND has good reviews.

Other:
I didn't include things you didn't mention:
- Windows 8 64-bit (plus Start8 ?)
- CPU cooler (I wouldn't use a stock CPU cooler due to noise)
- DVD burner

The AMD vs INTEL argument gets pretty old. Basically the i5-4670K destroys the FX-8350 in over 95% of the games. It's only some of the recent games that are really starting to perform similarly like BF4 etc.

Most people buy plenty of older games. Skyrim for example is 40% slower on the FX-8350.

(TekSyndicate has the absolutely screwed up benchmarks showing the FX-8350 setup getting over 2x the performance of the i5/i7. Ignore their results. They even retested after complaints and still made many mistakes.)

Don't forget that even though skyrim is 40% slower, it is so easy to run that that statistic makes ZERO real world game difference as both CPUs max it EASILY.
