Dude where's my core?

I have a AMD A10 7850k (Kaveri). Please look at the following puzzling screenshots which illustrate my phantom core issue. C6 is disabled in the bios and Advanced MSConfig options have been set to boot with 4 cores.

Device manager - 4 cores
CPU Z - 4 cores
Task Manager Performance tab - 2 cores.

you have 2 cores, but 4 logical processors.

I don't know much about the A10 cpu/apu, but that would explain it, and that's what windows says in your screenshot.

Task manager is correct. AMD's architecture since Bulldozer has been like this, they don't actually have 4/6/8 cores, they 2/3/4 modules, each with two "integer clusters". You can read about it here on Tom's: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/cpu-performance-comparison,3370-2.html
