I have a BenQ XL2420T 120hz monitor that for the most part I am very happy with for gaming.

The problem comes from games that have their framerates capped at 60FPS. The motion blur is absolutely awful. I am using BIT.Trip Runner 2 as an example because this game is constantly scrolling and is also locked to 60.

I have tried everything to fix it, including enabling/disabling Vsync in-game and Adaptive Vsync in the Nvidia control panel, also using a 3rd party tool that enables Lightboost on the monitor without going 3D (it was less blurry, but was kinda like double-vision on the edge of objects).

The only thing that worked was when I actually played the game in stereoscopic 3D with the Nvidia glasses. It plays smooth as silk when this is switched on, and the blur is totally gone! I can see all the little details of the 3D models that I couldn't do before because of the blur... But why is this? I don't really want to be forced to use these glasses all the time.

Am considering giving up on this monitor, which is a shame because for the games that can go up to 120FPS it looks fantastic and buttery smooth. Any advice?

enable triple buggering and adaptive v-sync

not sure on this one, but you could try setting your display refresh rate back down to 60 for said games (create a custom resolution profile in the nvidia control panel and you can adjust refresh rate as well) this would be my first step in trying to fix the problem

No difference with these.

I have since tried it on my TV with a different PC and it blurs even worse!

I think it's just something that I'll have to live with. It's just weird that the stereoscopic 3D totally eliminates the blur.
