Hey guys,
I am currently using these headphones: AKG K514, and they have a pretty good sound quality if you ask me!
But here's the deal:
I want some very good headphones for listening to music on the street as well as while sitting at home, and just generally with a good sound quality and more importantly, they need to be fairly easy to transport. I would love if they were foldable or had a good case for carrying them around :D
And i have a budget: Nothing over 200$
Please let me hear your suggestions people!
I had a pair of Beats By Dre Studio in mind, but i don't know if they're worth it?
If someone here has a pair of Beats, please tell me what you like and dont like about them! :D
Have a great holiday people!

Can you answer some questions first?

1) What kind of music do you listen too?
2) Do you plan to have any kind of external amplification?
3) Do you prefer over-the-ear or on-the-ear style headphones?
4) Which is more important to you: sound stage or stronger low frequency response (bass)?
5) Which is more important to you: accurate reproduction of music or fun, livened up enhanced sound?
6) Do you want noise isolation, noise cancellation, or don't care?
7) Do you mind if there is sound leakage (you hear people around you, they hear your music)?
8) Do you want iPhone/iPod controls and mic?
9) How long do you plan to wear the headphones in a typical listening session?
10) Will you be using a standard headphone plug (1/4") or a mini-plug (1/8")?

If you need to do some reading up on headphone selection, check out head-fi-org.

Hi,
1. I Like to listen to Rap, rock, electronic, and some pop too :D
2. No, i don't plan any amplification.
3. It needs to be over-ear headphones
4. I would like a good mixture of Bass level and sound stage?
5. I want some pretty accurate reproduction of the music, i want to hear it as the author wanted it to be heard.
6. I dont care about that :)
7. I want them to keep the sound in the earcups, so i can sit next to people without bothering them.
8. It's not important, i dont care :)
9. Maybe an hour or two :)
10. I think i'll use a standard one?

Hope that helped you :)

I think a good headphone for what you are looking for is the 32 ohm version of the Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro:

Another good choice would be the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x headphones:

Dre's beats are not well regarded in audiophile circles, although if you want thumping bass they'll give you that.

Don't buy from beats, just don't. If you like beats, I'm not going to going to offend your opinion, but in truth, they're only popular because of labeling, and extremely expensive, and plus, if you're seen out in public with a pair, you may be a target for muggers. you'd be better off getting a pair of headphones from sony, audio technica or razer. (But only pick razer if you're crazy about 7.1)
