Hey TH Community,

I recently built a new system. Specs are as follows:

i7 3770k 1155 (No OC)
8GB for Corsair Vengeance @ 1600mhz (2 x 4gb)
ASUS P8Z77-V Pro

The rest of my hardware is re-used:

HX850W PSU
GTX 570
M4 Crucial 128GB
WD 2TB HDD

Now, I had some issues installing Win 7 on my new build, mostly because it couldn't read the SSD for whatever reason. After several formats of the drive I discovered it was my secondary HDD causing issues, so I disconnected it and was able to load Win 7 no problem.

Sine then I have discovered weird issues, the computer has rebooted randomly once or twice (I attribute this to Windows updates), drivers seem to be loading poorly at times (I have a Razer Blackwiddow and Deathadder, they have acted up upon boot- Just little things like the caps lock lock being toggled permanently, for example), and taking a long time to load Windows features (DisplayFusion, Razer Synapse, Flux). The POST also seems to take a while sometimes (Sometimes it's 5 seconds, other times closer to 30 seconds)

Finally, I have noticed it freezing up randomly. It happened on Feb 8th at about 11:30pm, and again on Feb 9th at about 2pm. Total lock up, mouse frozen, no sound, no keyboard. Upon a hard reset, I am prompted with the error that no boot device could be found; only the DVD drive and my secondary HDD. This makes me suspect a bad SSD.

However, after some digging in the BIOS, I have it booting again and it can see the SSD. This was at about 12am on Feb 9th, but again the same issue as described above happened at 2pm on Feb 9th. It seems like the BIOS does not read the SSD, and again, it then shows up later.

What I have tried thus far:

I ran GeekSquad's MRI 5.7.1 disk and ran a HW test of the board, cpu, and RAM. I also used MemTest 86+ 4.2 on the RAM and it succesfully passed. I updated the BIOS on the board as well as the firmware on the SSD. This was last night (Feb 9th) at about 9pm, so I havent had a good chance of testing it to see if the issue is resolved. I also checked my temps in Speccy and everything seems to be okay there.

Do you guys know any other trouble shooting steps I could take? I feel like I'm chasing ghosts on this build and really would like it to be stable.

Thanks :)
