Laptop Processor / Help pls.

I doubt you could upgrade your processor. Your laptop has been engineered for a specific processor and motherboard combination, it has been designed to provide just enough power and to cool just enough to keep it from overheating. If you were somehow able to put a faster CPU in it, that faster CPU would draw more power than the laptop was designed to provide, and it would generate more heat that the laptop was designed to dissipate. Give up on the idea.
Pretty much what mbreslin says. The laptop is low end, so I doubt they built much flexibility into it, at the most, if the are other processors in the Aspie4743 line up those could probably be used, You WOULD need to contact Acer/Gateway & see what the allow (I didn't see anything online)
